Geoffrey D.V. Salter, P. Eng., President and CEO

Mr. Salter founded Aztech Associates Inc. in 1993 where he has been leveraging his +20 years of experience in engineering, operations and corporate management to develop leadership products for Asset Tracking, Conservation and Demand Side Energy Management and Home Area Networks.

A graduate of Queen’s University with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mr. Salter held several senior positions prior to launching Aztech having led the engineering team for a Queen’s University spin-off and later for an asset tracking via satellite company. Over the course of his career Mr. Salter has held several industrial designs and patents and currently has a patent pending on the innovative light display on Aztech’s In-Home Display.

Mr. Salter is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Lake Ontario Regional Innovation Network (ELORIN) and is a past competitive cyclist at the Canadian national level.

At Aztech Mr. Salter provides the vision and inspiration behind the company’s strategic direction and its research and development efforts.


Gardner S. McBride, VP Business Development

Gardner’s experience prior to coming to Aztech includes sales, marketing and operations management in regulated and unregulated industries and on the non-profit and business enterprise sides.

He was National Sales Manager for Elliot Business Machines (a DYMO company) and in Senior Management at Interline Communications (a USWest company), responsible for the smart buildings initiative. His start-up and commercialization experience includes acting as a mentor to the President for a newly launched subsidiary of Illinois Bell where he successfully aided launching a spin-off riser cable management company in six months.

As a senior member of a telecommunications related venture he was in charge of all technology, developing new products for sale and opening new sites. The venture grew from USD$1M to USD$23M during his tenure.

On the non-profit side he was Executive Vice President (Chief Staff Officer) of The Building Owners and Managers Association International (BOMA) for a decade. Prior to BOMA he was the Interim Executive Vice President of the Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce.

He is a graduate of Drew University in Madison, New Jersey and has a second residence in the US near Annapolis, Maryland where he can be found sailing the Chesapeake Bay as time permits.

Gerry Lalonde, CFO

Mr. Lalonde is a seasoned business executive with over thirty years of progressively senior experience in the information technology, telecommunications and consulting industries where he has held CEO, CFO and CIO positions.

Mr. Lalonde spent 15 years with Digital Equipment of Canada Limited where he held progressively senior roles as Financial Controller, CIO and VP Outsourcing services. Included in his experience was three years spent as CFO for Digital’s New Zealand subsidiary.

As VP Outsourcing Services he was instrumental in building Digital’s $300m outsourcing business.

As VP International for OAO Technology Solutions he was responsible for launching their international operations, opening seven new countries and growing the business to $30m in annual revenues in less than three years. He was also a member of the Executive Team that took OAOT public on the Nasdaq in the mid 90s.

Mr. Lalonde is a graduate of the University of Ottawa were he obtained a Bachelors in Administration degree. He is a Certified General Accountant and a member of the Certified General Accountants Association of Ontario and the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada, past Chairman of the Ottawa Chapter of the Certified General Accountants of Ontario, past member of the Advisory Board of CGA International Business Research Centre at Queen’s University and a member of the Canada Club of London England.

Andy Bennis, VP Sales

Andy Bennis has specialized in sales and marketing for the Information Technology and Services industry for over 20 years. His expertise includes both software and hardware, with a proven track record at organizations ranging from startups to established Fortune 500 companies. Andy’s focus has been both direct sales and channel development in Canada and the United States.

Andy has held senior sales positions with Toshiba of Canada Limited, Digital Equipment, DataMirror, Fastlane Technologies, and Configuresoft Inc.

As President of Interwork Technologies, an established North American distributor of security solutions, Andy was responsible for its day to day activities. He followed this up as a Director at Bell Security Solutions, and then as Vice President of Computerlinks North America. Most recently, Andy was National Director of Security Sales at telecommunications giant Allstream.
