Sensus confirmed to key customers at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas that the Aztech In-Home Display (IHD) will be able to connect directly to Sensus’ FlexNet meters during the first quarter of 2010.
“The FlexNet-enabled Aztech In-Home Displays helped to make CES 2010 a terrific success,” said Jon Rappaport, Marketing Product Manager at Sensus. “Given the significant and rapidly growing interest in the energy sector, and Aztech’s adoption of the U-SNAP interoperability standard, I believe that selecting these devices will be an easy choice for both consumers and utilities alike.”
As the face of the Smart Grid, the Aztech In-Home Display helps utilities reach conservation goals, while encouraging homeowners to reduce electricity consumption and save money. “The Sensus FlexNet AMI solution, in conjunction with an In-Home Display, empowers consumers with the same real-time information once only available to a utility,” said Geoff Salter, President and CEO of Aztech. “We are extremely excited that this partnership will add significant value to current and future customers.”
The device used at the show will soon be used in a permanent demonstration at the Ontario Green Home in Kitchener-Waterloo, confirmed Derek Satnik, the Managing Partner of Mindscape Innovations, which is completing the initiative. The home is nearing completion for public display in early spring.
